What has been the impact of information technologies on the work relationships, activities, and resources of managers?

Information technologies has had a significant impact on work relationships, activities and resources for manager. Managers are not only responsible for managing day-to-day operations and people, they are also responsible for where the data is stored and used in the information systems that support their operations. Work relationship are less personal as you spend less time getting to know your co-workers. What’s your role, what’s your background and how long have been in the game is what we now call getting to know your co-workers. Technologies, such as, email and instant messaging eliminates the amount of face-to-face time we need to spend with our co-workers.

Work activities increases, because technology allows us to multitask. Projects are more frequent, on a larger scale and have smaller timelines than the days without information technology by automating various processes within an organization. Technology also limits the amount of resources needed to complete a task. Applying technology to activities makes activities to move at a very fast pace (rapid development, responsive, agile).
